The admission of pupils to the school is largely controlled by the Local Authority (LA). Parents/carers should contact the LA to enquiry about admission arrangements. The LA follows the procedures described in the SEN Code of Practice and may recommend placement at the school. If the offer of a placement is accepted then the school would wish to make the transition as easy as possible for the child and his/her parents. The school actively encourages prospective parents to visit school and encourages them to bring members of their family with them. Parents are also offered the opportunity to visit with or without their child at first as some prefer to look round without being distracted by their child. Pupils leave school at the end of Year 11. Students who have profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex medical needs have the option to stay at Kemball until they are 19 years old. Pupils can, of course, leave Kemball to transfer elsewhere at any time. Further details concerning admissions are in the Admissions Policy which is available on the school website or from school on request.
